Apartment in Place du Tertre
This apartment located at the top of the Butte Montmartre in Paris is very fragmented due to successive acquisitions of several lots on different floors. The shape of the roof is complex, with raising sections opening views of Paris, the Sacré-Coeur, the Tertre square.
The unified flooring (green linoleum) and exposed wood structures (systematically blackened with paint) reveal the underside of the roof as a large abstract fold. This device restores a soothing and domestic unity to these fragmented spaces. A large plywood-made bookcase connects the two main levels.
